FAQ
What is the difference between Spot and Real Time Rating (RTR)?
RealTime Rating (RTR) allows providers access to freight before it hits the spot market. After shippers distribute freight to the contracted providers, the next step is to be able to extract rates prior to the auction and spot tools within the platform.
Spot API rating allows providers an immediate, volume-centric quoting solution to the spot freight opportunities.
If I automate Real Time Rating (RTR) do I have to automate Spot as well?
No – each process can be managed separately, but there is a great value in utilizing the TABiConnect platform for both – to maintain a consistent methodology and to track activity, volume and freight capture data for better decision making.
Is the price all in for both Hubtek and e2open or is it separate pricing that I need to subscribe to both?
The pricing is separate, but can be bundled for discounted solutions.
Are Shippers requiring their Providers use API rating?
RealTime rating, by its immediate extraction nature, requires API connectivity. But overall, shippers do not require, yet prefer API due to the speed and responsiveness.
Why did e2open select Hubtek as their Preferred API Rating Technology Partner?
- Providers control to quote spot rates using TABi Connect parameters.
- Eliminates bad automations that send back stale rates from a data base or rate engine plus margin.
- Gives Shippers comfort that they are getting true rates that reflect the Providers business on lanes that they can truly service.
- Reducing tender rejections due to misquotes from poorly built automations
- Each shipper has their own profile within each Provider’s instance of TABi Connect, allowing to customize algorithms and increase accuracy
- Reporting capabilities that allow the Providers to have meaningful and actionable reviews with Shippers about their freight; when done correctly the Shipper can reduce transportation spend while the Provider maintains their margin.
Do I get access to all Shippers on the e2open platform if I purchase the API rating?
No. API rating provides greater access to existing shippers. However, the growing need of shippers to access providers who can meet their capacity requirements places a premium on those providers. E2open and TABiConnect provide that solution for shippers.
What if I lose my customer, am I still paying for it?
If a shipper is lost, the functionality can quickly be transferred to an alternative shipper (with whom a relationship may already exist).
